Dr. Mark Abani [HM Revenue and Customs (UK)]

Dr. Abani is the former Chairman of The Central Association of Nigerians in the United Kingdom (CANUK), an umbrella body of all
Nigerian Associations in the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland.
Dr. Abani is Head of Debt Management (Early Interventions and Enforcement) in HMRC’s Debt Management and Banking.
Before that he was a University lecturer and research scientist and holds a PhD in Biometrical Genetics and Plant Breeding
and is a fully trained Tax Inspector.
Dr. Abel Adegoke [Gladstone Medical Centre, Merseyside]

Dr. Adegoke first came to the United Kingdom under a British Council award in 1996. Since then, he has been a practicing GP in the
Wirral, (Merseyside). As well as a trainer for both undergraduate and postgraduate medical students at the Liverpool University.
Dr. Adegoke is also the CEO of a successful healthcare company, RNK Wholistic Health Care Services.
Since 2007, he has been national chairman of the Overseas Fellowship of Nigerian Christians, a post he held on completion of his
duties as the fellowship's national secretary. He brings to the conference, his vast experience in living in the UK.
‘Gbenga Sesan [Paradigm Initiative Nigeria (PIN)]

‘Gbenga is the Executive Director of Paradigm Initiative Nigeria (PIN), a social enterprise that connects underserved
people-groups with ICT-enabled opportunities. He was Nigeria's first Information Technology Youth Ambassador.
An Archbishop Desmond Tutu Leadership Fellow. ‘Gbenga has been honoured with various awards which include
the 2009 National Youth Merit award, the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) 2006 YES Scholarship award
and the ITU 2001 African Youth Fellowship award.
Prof. John Durodola [Oxford Brookes University]

Prof. Durodola an Assistant Dean in the School of Technology at Oxford Brookes University where he is also the Head of the
Department of Mechanical Engineering and Mathematical Sciences.
Prof. Durodola completed his BSc in Mechanical Engineering in 1982 at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria where he obtained
the prize for the best student in his class. His PhD research on "Continuous Boundary Elements for Potential Problems"
was carried out at Imperial College, University of London between 1987 and 1990.
Lord Mayor of Canterbury [Canterbury]

The Lord Mayor of Canterbury for 2009/10 is Councillor Dr Harry Cragg. Originally hailing from Cumbria, Cllr Cragg has lived in
Canterbury since 1966 when he took up a post lecturing in chemistry at the University of Kent at Canterbury.
He became Reader in inorganic chemistry and Dean of Natural Sciences before retiring in 1998.
He was elected to Canterbury City Council in May 1999 and is ward councillor for St Stephen's ward.
He was Leader of the Council (2005-7) and for the last two years has been executive member for Culture and Sport.
Linus Idahosa [Del-York International]

Linus an international media consultant is the CEO of Del-York International, a revolutionary media consultancy
that seeks to reposition Nigeria’s film industry. Del-York International represents the prestigious New York Film Academy
in Nigeria. Linus has just begun a campaign geared towards the restive youths of the troubled Niger Delta region.
The campaign seeks to teach the militants new shooting skills, encouraging them to tell their stories
with cameras instead of guns.
Frances Williams [Interims for Development, UK]

Frances Williams is the Chief Executive of Interims for Development, a UK-based Human Resources, Careers and Training
consultancy. She is also the publisher and Editor of ReConnect Africa (www.reconnectafrica.com), an online magazine
and website providing essential information on careers and business for African professionals in the Diaspora.
Mrs. Williams is a member of the Commonwealth Business Women’s Network Steering Committee and the National Black Women’s
Network and an affiliate of the UK Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development.
Eng. Michael Friday [Vivid Vision Global Resources]

Michael an inventor and entrepreneur is the CEO of Vivid Vision Global Resources. He has invented flash drives of 16 and 32 GB,
a GPRS navigator and a 2.4 litre engine car, which is still in production.
Michael was awarded “The 2009 Most Outstanding Youth in Invention” by the National Youth Council of Nigeria
and Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports. The Zhunttai Centre for Science and Technology Development, China awarded him for
“Development of the Smallest in Size and Largest in Capacity Flash Storage”.
Olanike Adebayo

Olanike Adebayo is a freelance writer, author and inspirational speaker who graduated from the University of Bradford in 2005
with a BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science.
Her first book, published in 2009, titled THE REAL DEAL: The Journey of an International Student in the UK is a memoirs
as well as a guide to other international students.
Lawrence Ezemonye [National Centre for Energy and Environment, Nigeria]

Dr. Ezemonye, the Director of the National Centre for Energy and Environment is an Associate Professor of Ecotoxicology
in the Department of Animal and Environmental Biology of the University of Benin.
He has served as an Environmental consultant to multi-nationals such as UNDP, World Bank, UNIDO, WWF/NCF, SPDC.
He is a World Bank Population Research Fund Project Recipient(1997/1998), UNDP Project Awardee(1998, 2001)
IPED/UNIDO (2006) International Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) Elimination Project Awardee.
Tobe E. Godson [Benson Idahosa University]

Tobe E. Godson is an educator and an entrepreneur. He is the founder and Creative Director of Fusion Consulting,
the Business Development Manager of BIU Technologies, and lectures in the Mathematics and Computer Science department
of Benson Idahosa University. Tobe has a Masters degree from the University of Westminster in England.
Tobe has a wealth of field experience from working as an IT Consultant for several SMEs in the city of London for many years
before returning to Africa as a teacher and IT Consultant.
Victoria Oruwari

Victoria is currently a teacher of singing and the Choir director at Acton high school, An associate music mentor with
the Drake music charity and a recitalist. After obtaining a BMUS hons at the Trinity College of music, Victoria completed
a postgraduate Diploma in Voice where she passed with distinction.
She has since pursued her singing career by giving recitals in venues including the Regent’s hall, the Charlton house
both of which are situated in London, and the musical society of Nigeria’s (MUSON) Agip recital hall Lagos Nigeria.
Peter Olorunnisomo

Peter Olorunnisomo is a poet, playwright, actor/director, short-story writer, essayist whose works often centre on the intricacies
of the human mind and experiences and the cumulating of these on the psyche of society.
As a poet, he has been nominated International Poet of the Year by the International Society of Poets for two consecutive years
(2004, 2005). He has worked in echelon of the Nigerian Civil Service of the Presidency, Ministries of Foreign Affairs,
Federal Capital Territory, and Finance for many years. As an ambassador of Nigeria, he was guest of the Prime Minister of Japan
(1997) on a study tour of the Japanese administrative and public management structures.
